New High School And Life Project: Perceptions Of Students In The Federal District
High School; Perception; Documentary Method; Youth
This research is being conducted within the context of the research "Formative Pathways and Life Projects in the New High School: Processes, Proposals, and Subjects," funded by the CNPq (National Council for the Study of High School Education) under CNPq/MCTI/FNDCT Call No. 40/2022, Scientific and Technological Development Program in Humanities - PRÓ-HUMANIDADES, coordinated by Prof. Dr. Wivian Weller. In this context, it was necessary to also listen to students to understand the implementation of the curricular reform enacted by Law 13.415/2017, called New High School Education, in the Federal District Department of Education. The theoretical basis is French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu's Theory of Reproduction. The concepts of domination, cultural capital, reproduction, and the ideology of gift/meritocracy are the foundations for understanding the dynamics of the development and implementation of the aforementioned reform. The first part will be an analysis of the official documents that guided the implementation of the New High School at the district level—the New High School Implementation Plan (SEEDF, 2022b) and the Guidance Booklet of the Life Project Curricular Unit (SEEDF, 2022a). The content analysis technique will follow the theoretical framework of classical Content Analysis according to Bauer and Gaskell (2013). The second part will be field research. Discussion Groups (DG) will be held with second-year high school students in five schools in the Federal District. The DGs will be analyzed using the Documentary Method, as described by Bohnsack (2020).
