SUMMARY:

The objective of this work is the understanding that the contributions and limits of the Pedagogical Residency Program (PRP) for the training of teachers among the members in the Pedagogy course of five institutions in the Brazilian Central-West. We start from the following central problematization: what are the contributions and limits of the PRP on teacher training? In order to comprehend the discussion, we also bring some guiding questions: What influences and political conceptions are present in the official texts that introduce the Pedagogical Residency? What are the contributions of the PRP to the construction of a professional practice? The research will involve the following participants: five institutional coordinators of the PRP, from five IESs in the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District; and the Pedagogy graduates who are included in the program. We will use interviews and questionnaires aimed at program participants, and document analysis of public notices and PRP ordinances. We will rely on the theoretical framework of historical-dialectical materialism, using authors such as Curado Silva (2008), Marx; Engels (2007), Marx (1977), among others. The research is being carried out according to the steps: i) Study of Brazilian legislation, theorists who deal with teacher training and survey of works on the subject for the state of knowledge; ii) elaboration of questions and application of the questionnaire and interviews; iii) analysis of documents and notices; iv) application of the questionnaires to residents, conducting semi-structured interviews with institutional coordinators and v) analysis and tabulation of data, construction of categories and analysis of results.
