SUMMARY:

This research aims to map and analyze the pedagogical practices related to the implementation of Laws No. 10.639/2003 and No. 11.645/2008 in two public schools in the Federal District: Escola Classe Beija-Flor (116 Norte) and the Centro de Ensino Médio da Asa Norte (606 Norte). The study seeks to understand how teachers, school administrators and students attribute meaning to the presence of Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous histories and cultures in the curriculum, and how these themes are translated, in everyday school life, into actions, projects, and ways of teaching. It therefore investigates the strategies adopted, the resistances encountered and the meanings produced in these experiences. This work adopts narrative inquiry, enabling the experiences of teachers and students to be understood through their own accounts and interpretations, valuing the meanings that motivate them and that emerge in the pedagogical practices developed. Data production involves: (1) participant observation of activities related to the theme; (2) narrative interviews and questionnaires with teachers and administrators; and (3) document analysis of lesson plans, projects, and institutional records. The investigation is grounded in a broad set of studies on ethnic-racial relations and antiracist education, dialoguing with authors who, from decolonial perspectives, problematize the limits and highlight the potentialities of contemporary schooling.
