SUMMARY:

This study addresses Inclusive Education and Special Education, focusing on serving students with high abilities/giftedness (HA/GD), especially those who are mathematically skilled in the early years of elementary school in the Federal District. Its overall objective is to analyze the pedagogical practices of Specialized Educational Services (AEE) teachers aimed at this audience. Specific objectives include: investigating research on pedagogical practices in AEE for mathematically skilled students; characterizing the historical trajectory of services for students with AH/SD from the perspective of Inclusive Mathematics Education (IME); understanding the organization of AEE in the Federal District; analyzing teachers' perceptions of the identification, assessment, and development of these students; and examining how pedagogical practices relate to discussions about inclusion. The research will be structured in a multipaper format, with interconnected articles, using a qualitative approach. Bibliographic, documentary, and field research will be employed, with semi-structured interviews and observation in specific resource rooms for AH/SD. Partial/preliminary results show that there is a lack of research focused on AH/SD, particularly in the area of mathematics, and a need for the education of mathematically skilled students to be designed in a more targeted manner, taking into account the specific needs of this group. From this perspective, Inclusive Mathematics Education (IME) emerges as a valuable tool, a promising possibility for this process. This study aims to contribute to the development of inclusive pedagogical practices in Mathematics Education, promoting the improvement of the skills of mathematically gifted students and ensuring that their specificities are recognized and valued in the educational system, in addition to combating the invisibility of these students.
