Juventude e violência: narrativas e trajetórias de jovens privados de liberdade nos sistemas socioeducativo e prisional no Distrito Federal

This doctoral research is linked to the research line Comparative Studies in Education (Ecoe), of the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGE), Faculty of Education (FE), University of Brasília (UnB) and is being developed within the Research Group Generations and Youth (Geraju). Youth characterize a significant portion of people deprived of liberty in different Latin American countries, both in prison systems and in detention centers of juvenile justice systems. In this sense, the present study aims to understand the youth condition and the marks of violence in the trajectories of young people, between 18 and 21 years old, deprived of liberty in the socio-educational and prison systems. The theoretical framework covered by the research aims to contribute to the theoretical-methodological foundation of the object of study, using concepts, issues and themes related to youth, violence and crime, youth deprivation of liberty systems and public educational policies for people deprived of liberty. The theoretical-methodological issues are based on reconstructive qualitative research and the sociology of praxeological knowledge, and the generation and interpretation of empirical data will be carried out through participant observation, narrative interviews, discussion groups and documentary method. In this qualification work, the definition of the research corpus, the approaches to the field and the prospectus of the thesis work will also be presented.
