SUMMARY:

The following master’s research project proposes to understand the dynamics of the higher education expansion in the Federal District of Brazil between 2010 e 2021. It intends to be an exploratory study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, doing descriptive statistical analysis of data constituting the local field available from the Higher Education Census and investigating, with semi-structured interviews, the interpretation of relevant actors in the field, like top management of institutions with distinctive positions in the field. There are few recent studies about higher education in the Federal District in its totality and the changes that have happened with higher education policy and in the higher education market since 2010, suggest a new historical phase for higher education in the Federal District, with a configuration in need of update and new analyses.
