SUMMARY:

This thesis project aims to investigate the meanings attributed to Digital Technologies of Information, Communication, and Expression (TICE) by faculty members of the Pedagogy course at the State University of Montes Claros (Unimontes), within the context of the research line Education, Technologies, and Communication (ETEC). The central question is: what meanings of TICE permeate the teaching practices in the Pedagogy course at Unimontes? The research adopts a qualitative approach with a case study design, following the assumptions of Lüdke and André (1986) and Minayo (2010), which emphasize understanding the meanings constructed by subjects in their concrete contexts. The empirical field will be Unimontes itself, focusing on permanent faculty members of the Pedagogy course who hold at least a master’s degree and are involved in the initial training of teachers. This selection is justified by the relevance of their experiences for understanding the use of TICE in real teaching contexts. Data collection will be carried out through electronic forms and semistructured interviews. The analysis is based on the historical-dialectical materialist method and the construction of Meaning Cores, according to the Historical-Cultural Psychology framework (Vygotsky; Aguiar & Ozella). The theoretical framework includes authors such as Kenski, Lacerda Santos, Lévy, Castells, Selwyn, Morin, Lemke, and Machado, who discuss the relationship between technology, educational practices, and symbolic mediation. The research views TICE as sociotechnical and symbolic devices, aiming for a critical understanding of teaching practice and contributing to a more reflective and meaningful pedagogy.
