SUMMARY:

This research project presents as its object of study the initial consciousness, in and for oneself, of the pedagogical coordinator. In this theme, it is understood that the primary social function of the public school is to provide individuals with the opportunity to appropriate knowledge historically produced by humanity and their omnilateral human formation. From this perspective, it is understood that individuals involved in educational and pedagogical work need to perceive school as one of the fundamental spheres of enrichment of human universality, because the greater the critical understanding of the various complexities that constitute human life, the more transformative and emancipatory the role of individuals in society will be. Thus, understanding this movement involves analyzing the formation of individuals' consciousness, which occurs based on the concrete reality existing in an initial process of internalization of values, norms, judgments and, added to these, the mastery of scientific knowledge. In this sense, the role of the pedagogical coordinator in contemporary public schools stands out, as one of those responsible for mediating the pedagogical knowledge that embodies teaching practice and, therefore, the human development of their peers. This professional has an essential role in the articulation of pedagogical work and can, in their activity, design and propose actions that can maintain, reproduce or transform the school reality, their peers and themselves, depending on the level of awareness they have of their work as an intentional, planned and purpose-oriented praxis. In theoretical and conceptual terms, based on studies by Iasi (2011), the discussion of levels of consciousness and the understanding of the category of work as ontological in the constitution of the social being, a complex that exists in and for the formation of consciousness, considering the social and power relations developed therein, are adopted. From this perspective, the research focuses on the relationship between the formation of the consciousness of the pedagogical coordinator and the work developed by him/her in an educational context of relations and interactions. The research is part of a set of studies developed by the Study and Research Group on Teaching Work, Didactics and Organization of Pedagogical Work – Prodocência, linked to the Graduate Program of the Faculty of Education of the University of Brasília (UnB), in the Research Line: Teaching Profession, Curriculum and Assessment (PDCA). The research problem is: how does the work of the pedagogical coordinator influence the formation of his/her consciousness (initial/in-itself/for-itself) in schools in the public education system of the Federal District? The general objective is to analyze how the work of the pedagogical coordinator influences the formation of his/her consciousness (initial/in-itself/for-itself) in schools in the public education system of the Federal District. This general objective is divided into the following specific objectives: a) To understand how the Pedagogical Coordinator mediates work relationships in the school; b) To discuss the pedagogical work constituted and constitutive in and by the activity of the pedagogical coordinator; c) To reflect on the meanings attributed by the pedagogical coordinator to his/her work; d) To understand the elements that constitute the organization of the school's pedagogical work and its relations with the formation of the initial consciousness, initself and for-itself of the pedagogical coordinator. Methodologically, the qualitative research adopts the criticaldialectical perspective, based on the assumptions of HistoricalDialectical Materialism (Marx, 2017; Cury, 2000; Netto, 2011). For data production, observations and semi-structured interviews with pedagogical coordinators working in public schools linked to the State Secretariat of Education of the Federal District will be used. In the data analysis, the nuclei of meaning (Aguiar & Ozella, 2013, 2015) will be applied. Theoretically, concepts by Lukács (2012, 2013, 2023) on the constitution of the social being mediated by work, Saviani (2013, 2021) regarding education in human formation and educational work, Duarte (2013) contributing to reflections and elaborations on the formation of individuality, Iasi (2011, 2022) who discusses the formation of consciousness, and Placco & Almeida (2015, 2018) with approaches on the pedagogical coordinator will be explored. The development of the study aims to understand the relationship between the educational work of pedagogical coordinators and the formation of conscience, considering the contradictions and mediations that mark its constitution in the school context
