SUMMARY:

This research proposal focuses on analyzing the results of the assessment of literacy in Brazil in the period between 2014 and 2022 in light of the objectives of the PNAIC and the PNA. The investigation will be carried out through the analysis of the evaluation results and objectives proposed in the guidelines of two public policies aimed at strengthening the practice of literacy in Brazil: the National Pact for Literacy at the Right Age (PNAIC) and the National Literacy Policy (PNA), established in 2008 and 2019, respectively. We problematize the effects of these policies on the performance evidenced in the results in national assessments within the established timeframe. Both policies are national coverage, but have a different scope and approach, thus enabling comparison between the speeches that reference them. This is a research that in its methodological design makes use of the qualitative method, using documentary analysis as main data collection tool. The interpretation of the information collected has a contribution in content analysis, with additional assistance from the Interface de R pour les Analyzes software Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires (Iramuteq).
