SUMMARY:

This research focuses on the pedagogical activities of Specialized Educational Assistance (AEE) teachers in general resource classrooms in conjunction with regular education teachers in the final years of elementary education. Starting from the research question, we inquire: What pedagogical knowledge is necessary for the AEE teacher? This inquiry leads to the general objective of understanding the pedagogical knowledge required for the AEE teacher in the general resource classroom. The methodology employed in this study is qualitative in nature, aligning with Critical Theory. The research subjects include AEE teachers in general resource classrooms and regular education teachers from the respective schools of AEE, affiliated with the Regional Education Coordination of Paranoá/Itapoã. To analyze the data, critical discourse analysis will be employed. The theoretical framework is grounded in the theoretical studies of Charlot, Dantas, Franco, Tardif, Mantoan, Pimenta, as well as educational guidelines from the Special Education Department of the Federal District and relevant legislation. Expected results aim to underscore the significance of pedagogical knowledge for the professional practice of AEE and the educational process of the students being served. Given the importance of this study, it also aims to contribute to the reflection on the role of the AEE professional in the adequate teaching and learning process, conducted in general resource classrooms in the final years of elementary education in public schools of the Federal District.
