The Professional Association of Secondary and Primary Teachers of Brasilia and the Relationship with Educational Policy in the Beginnings of the Federal CapitalEducational politics; Teachers' Association; History of Education in the Federal District; Brasilia; Education unionism
Education is made with the education workers, the physical structures, the educational projects and the political-pedagogical actions. The objective of this research is to rescue the origins of the first organization of teachers in professional association and its contributions to the History of education of Distrito Federal. The time frame of the research comprises the years from 1960 to 1964, with the creation and performance of the Professional Association of Secondary and Primary Teachers of Brasília (APPEMB/APPESPB). In this period there was an intense movement for the constitution of the public school system of the Federal District, linked to the Administration Commission of the Teaching System of Brasilia (CASEB), before the creation of the Educational Foundation of the Federal District. There was a mobilization of teachers to guarantee fundamental rights such as housing, working hours, political and pedagogical proposals, with strikes and dismissals and the CPI of Irregularities in the Brasília Education System, in the National Congress. We will use historical records and documents from the collections of the Museum of Education of the Federal District (FE-UnB and SEEDF), Public Archive of the DF, National Public Archive (hemeroteca and collections shared with the archives of the Chamber of Deputies) and from CEDOC of Sinpro-DF, as well as interviews with pioneer teachers of education in DF. This is a qualitative research, using content analysis and the epistemological referential of dialectical historical materialism as a guide. We are linked nationally and internationally to the Network of Researchers in Associativism and Trade Unionism of Education Workers (ASTE).
