ESCOLA DA TERRA: FORMATIVE AND REFLECTIVE PROCESSES, TRANSFORMING THE SCHOOL FORM OF RURAL SCHOOLS IN THE FEDERAL DISTRICT
Continuing Teacher Education; Rural Education; Transformation of the School Form; Rural School.
Continuing education processes are essential for the development of pedagogical work, as reflections, research, and diverse discussions promote significant changes in the school context. When it comes to Rural Schools, there is a need for engagement from both the teaching staff and administration in these training processes, in order to understand and mobilize work committed to the principles of Rural Education. It is not enough to be in a Rural School and continue with old practices without activating and articulating the curriculum with the lives of its subjects. Like a work under construction, Rural Education has been developed in the Federal District, and continuing education processes have contributed essential elements to this construction. From this perspective, we have the Escola da Terra Program, which involves the participation of a significant number of educators, promoting necessary reflections and discussions in search of changes to the current educational model. Based on the analysis of this Program, the research intends to verify its influence on the construction and/or transformation of identity in Rural Schools in the Federal District and on the development of pedagogical work of participating teachers during the three editions of the Program (2019–2024), considering the challenges and possibilities in the face of contradictions within capitalist society.
