The thesis' starting point is the importance of analyzing Anísio Teixeira's ideas and their impact on the Brazilian educational scenario. Anísio Teixeira was a prominent figure in the history of education in Brazil, with his progressive views and his commitment to democratic and inclusive education. The introduction establishes the relevance of understanding how his ideas can reverberate in contemporary educational policies, focusing on the analysis of the Complementary Law Project (PLP) No. 235/2019, which proposes the establishment of the National Education System. The general objective of the thesis is to investigate the influences and ideas of Anísio Teixeira in the context of the Brazilian education development project and analyze the possible repercussions on PLP 235/2019, which seeks to establish the SNE. The specific objectives include: i) Carry out a literature review on Anísio Teixeira's thought, highlighting his key principles and influences on the educational system. ii) Analyze the historical trajectory of educational policies in Brazil, identifying moments in which Anísio Teixeira's ideas influenced policies. iii) Examine PLP 235/2019 to identify the (possible) repercussions of Anísio Teixeira's thoughts on the proposal. iv) Investigate the relationship between Anísio Teixeira's ideas and the political and legislative debates surrounding PLP 235/2019.
