Right to Education, Special Education, Motherhood, Higher Education, Documentary Method
The present research project is affiliated with the research line of the Comparative Research
in Education (ECOE) and the Research Group on Generations and Youth (GERAJU), within
the Graduate Program in Education at the University of Brasília (PPGE/UnB). The objective
is to comprehend the organization of the biographical trajectories of student mothers with
disabilities at the University of Brasília, who tries to ensure their Children's Rights to
Education. Because of this objective, the following specific aims were defined: a) to explore
the biographical trajectories of student mothers with disabilities at the University of Brasília;
b) to understand the significance that each mother attaches to the right to education; and c) to
grasp their roles in the educational process of their children and identify which experiences
were most relevant to the mothers in their children's trajectories at the university. This is a
qualitative reconstructive study (Bohnsack, 2004; Bohnsack, 2020), employing
autobiographical narrative interviews analyzed according to the Documentary Method
(Bohnsack, 2020). The study seeks to contribute to discussions that recognize the
interrelationships among caregiving, the right to education, and special education, within an
inclusive perspective
