Comparative Study on Distance Higher Education: Graduates of Licentiate Degree Courses from UAB at Unimontes and UNB

This research aims to analyze public policies for distance higher education, focusing on the Open University System of Brazil (UAB) and its contributions to the initial training and professional development of teachers who graduated from the Pedagogy Course between 2013 and 2017 at the State University of Montes Claros and the University of Brasília. This qualitative research adopts a comparative study of the UAB System in two Brazilian public universities. his qualitative research adopts a comparative study of the UAB System in two Brazilian public universities. The methodology includes a literature review to construct a theoretical framework based on relevant authors discussing the themes and documentary research. For data collection, the study uses questionnaires administered to graduates of the Pedagogy degree programs offered through distance education at Unimontes and UnB, as well as semi-structured interviews with the UAB System coordinators at these universities. The ongoing study presents preliminary data on the role of distance education in democratizing access to higher education and teacher training, and highlights the contributions of the UAB System to the academic and professional trajectories of Pedagogy graduates in distance education at Unimontes and UnB.
