SUMMARY:
The present research investigates the sociabilities co-starred in the Holy Divine Spirit Feast that can, in a unique way, premeditate an immediate sense of reality and local identities. Furthermore, we aim to find out how the discourses of tradition are created and justified since they are structured and manifested through the Éthos rooted in this Feast. We assume that this Éthos presents itself as discursive regime centered on religious, conservative and moralistic values, resulting in a restrictive interpretation of tradition. Therefore, it is detailed as if it seals and selects what can and cannot be experienced, thus socially represented. We also seek to observe how the Holy Divine Spirit Feast can, in a certain way, highlight the morality of Pirenópolis society, based on values such as tradition and contradiction, sacred and profane, contributing to an understanding of a local hegemonic conservatism when it comes to festive representations. We work with the hypothesis that the discursive regime of tradition contributes to the maintenance of these values and that they can be perceived both in the production of local artists who have this Feast as inspiration for their arts, and in the way in which the works of these artists are received locally, either positively or negatively.
