Black Women Researchers; Black Women in Intellectuality; Black Women in Science; Promotion of Affirmative Policies.
Throughout the history of this country, black women and black men have embodied theverb “to fight” in their experiences. Fighting for the freedom to be, to exist and totransform the reality of a people affected by the remnants of colonialism andimperialism. The individual and collective actions of black people demarcate thepolitical and epistemological commitment to defending the promotion of racial equity. The black women’s movement and the black movement, as protagonists of this history, have incessantly highlighted the importance of the black presence in intellectuality, inthe production of knowledge and in activism. Based on these understandings, I presentthe following problem in this research: How is the relationship established between thetrajectories of black women researchers in intellectuality, in training practices and in theproduction of knowledge in the context of promoting Affirmative Policies in HigherEducation? The aim of this study is to sociologically analyze the trajectories of blackwomen researchers in the Postgraduate Programs in Sociology, Anthropology, Historyand Education at the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB), the FederalUniversity of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and the University of Brasília (UnB). This is aqualitative investigation, in which data will be collected through semi-structuredinterviews with the self-declared black collaborators who opted for affirmative action inthe master's and doctoral programs of the aforementioned programs. The interviewscover the following dimensions: (I) Access and permanence in undergraduate studies inthe context of Affirmative Policies (II) Construction of Racial Identity (III) AffirmativeActions and Policies in Postgraduate Studies (IV) Intellectuality, Knowledge Productionand Research (V) Future and Ancestral Paths and the content analysis of the data. Therefore, in accordance with the research problem, the collected data also aims toreflect how the presence of black women in academic intellectuality causes necessaryruptures for the production of knowledge.
