SUMMARY:

This research project aims to reflect on the processes of construction of political subjects, based on the nomination and recognition of practices of political violence and gender-based political violence among women parliamentarians and minorities, in the period 2014-2024. Based on this central axis, the aim is to produce a genealogy of gender-based political violence in Brazil as a public problem, and to understand how the circulation of gender-related issues within narrative disputes may have contributed to making the issue of violence against women visible in the political context. Gender-based political violence brings with it a device of authenticity and ambivalence that affects the political subject, since, at the same time, it aims to delegitimize, diminishing or removing them from the political sphere; on theother hand, from the moment there is some type of public denunciation, it can contribute to its legitimization, bringing it more visibility and strengthening, functioning as a mechanism for producing recognition of the subject in politics. The research adopts a qualitative methodological approach. Authors such as Judith Butler, Michel Foucault and Hannah Arendt will be involved in the construction of the theoretical framework. It is expected that the results of the research will provide elements that will allow for a broader understanding of the phenomenon of political gender violence in the country.
