SUMMARY:

This thesis intends to characterize Bolsonarism, as a political ideology, as a typical and genuine manifestation of authoritarianism - with a strong inclination towards totalitarianism - as well as demonstrating which economic, social, cultural, legal and political variables and factors and which historical categories, sociological and anthropological, in a certain spatial and temporal frame, played a decisive role in the process of its rise and the escalation of authoritarianism in Brazil.
