RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT: A CASE STUDY OF THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF ACRE – RIO BRANCO CAMPUS
THIS RESEARCH ADDRESSES RESTORATIVE JUSTICE IN AN EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT WITH A DATA COLLECTION FIELD AT THE RIO BRANCO CAMPUS OF THE INSTITUTO FEDERAL DO ACRE – IFAC. WHERE THERE HAS ALREADY BEEN A RESOLUTION APPROVED AND 2 IMPLEMENTED FOR SOME YEARS, HOWEVER, IT IS NOT KNOWN WHETHER THE ACTS IMPLEMENTED BY THE INSTITUTION ARE DISCIPLINARY MEASURES AIMED AT HEALING RELATIONSHIPS OR EVEN TRADITIONAL JUSTICE. TO BE SUCCESSFUL, A DATA COLLECTION SURVEY WAS CARRIED OUT IN ALL PROCESSES SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE WORK OF THE PERMANENT STUDENT DISCIPLINE COMMISSION – CPDIS UNTIL THOSE CONCLUDED IN FEBRUARY 2024, IN CASES CLASSIFIED AS SERIOUS AND VERY SERIOUS. AS WELL AS IN UN AND CNJ RESOLUTIONS THAT REGULATE AND EMPLOY THE CONCEPTS AND IMPLEMENTATION OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE, ALSO BRINGING TO THE RESEARCH DEBATE CONCEPTS FROM WRITERS RECOGNIZED FOR THE STUDY OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SUCH AS HOWARD ZEHR, BUT DEDICATING AN EXCLUSIVE LOOK TO THE JUDGE OF THE AIA COURT, THE WRITER LOUK HULSMAN AND HIS WORK PENAS PERDIDAS. WE CONCLUDE WITH A CONTRIBUTION OFFERING A BALANCED ALTERNATIVE BETWEEN EXISTING ACTIONS AND DISCIPLINARY MEASURES CLOSER TO CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION, MORE FOCUSED ON CIVILITY AND RESPECT FOR OPPOSING OR DIFFERENT THINKING.
THIS RESEARCH PROPOSAL WAS DRIVEN BY THE NEED TO SEEK ALTERNATIVE DISCIPLINARY MEASURES THAT HAVE AN EDUCATIONAL NATURE, AND TO THIS END, ALTERNATIVE JUSTICE GUISES ARE ADOPTED.
