The Affirmative Action System/Racial Quotas at the Faculty of Law of the University of Brasília-UnB: context, student perspective and pedagogical issues.
Affirmative Action. Faculty of Law. pedagogical issues.
This doctoral research aims to understand how the experience of racial quotas has unfolded at UnB in a highly selective course like Law. It highlights how the student perspective can contribute to thinking about relationships, transits and mobilizations in this physical space, as well as teaching, learning, research and extension. It also allows us to think about whether the identity of the course at FD/UnB, based on its curriculum and the development of competences, has envisioned a legal education committed to the Global South, which allows us to reflect on the Latin American context, political issues, social problems and the challenges of maintaining democratic values and guarantees of human rights, as well as to consider the possible incorporation of emerging themes and new content, giving rise to a possible construction and/or opening up of a more critical path in legal education in parallel to the prevalence of the traditional model of legal training.
