SUMMARY:

The present research presents a translation of a chapter extracted from the novel Humus, published in 2006, by the novelist Fabienne Kanor. In view of the author's work, which is still little read and its translation in the French language degree courses, this dissertation was outlined from the presentation of a novelist novel. We start from the understanding that the process of translation, mainly of black literary texts, black thought, black essay texts by Guellwar Adún requires more than rhetorical eloquence and/or technical acuity. Request a write-up. Therefore, we chose to be guided by the writer and essayist Conceição Evaristo's notion of writing, for aligning with our demands and ours. As de Carrascosa (2017), Édouard Glissant (2021), Paul Gilroy (2001), Souza (2018), Souza (2017), Silva-Reis; Araujo (2017), Vanessa Massoni (2020) were fundamental to

add discussions to our translation. In addition, we start from a black epistemology and methodology and a place of black, decolonial and anti-racist enunciation for the translation of this narrative of black authorship. Finally, it was possible to write literary works of French expression and this reverberates in the African-American.
