SUMMARY:

The present master's dissertation project aims to evaluate, in light of the legal provisions that set the guidelines for defining the spot price in Brazil, and considering various aspects of economic theory related to the topic, whether the value attributed to electricity provides an adequate signal for the expansion of the supply of this good and for its rational use.
